Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)

In the Catholic Church, adults who are interested in becoming Catholic, or need to complete their sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist),  or were baptized into another Christian faith and wish to become Catholic, join a program called the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, or OCIA. 

This program is a journey where one learns more about the Catholic faith and specifically, the sacraments they will receive.  In the OCIA program, adults meet for a weekly in-person class  that includes instruction, prayer, and sharing of the scripture. 

Order of Christian Initiation of Children (OCIC) Program at ​All Saints Catholic Church

The Order of Christian Initiation for Children (OCIC) is a program that prepares children for the sacraments of Christian initiation. This is for children grades 2 -12 who have not been baptized, children who have been baptized in another Christian faith tradition and wish to become Catholic, or children in grades 8-12 who have not received the sacraments of Communion and Confirmation. Those entering into this program are placed into a class group based on their age level.  The OCIC program is a two-year sacramental preparation program; students will need to receive two years of religious education instruction.  In order to receive the sacraments, children must be registered for the sacrament with the RE Office. ​
